Nobody makes you anything Nurina.
You surrender that decision and authority sometimes in relationships as a token of trust. The ultimate commander of your ship is you.
Retrieval is always possible. The further down the line into a committment the retrieval becomes necessary, the harder it is to execute, the more pain it inflicts and the more self doubt it incurrs.
But it is always possible, especially if self preservation drives the need.

Some things aren't worth holding on to.
You owe it to yourself first, to travel litht so as to enjoy your shopping on your trip in life.
You will find a way, for as long as you want to.

Dear Vixen
You sound like you have your heart in the right place but he does not. You have a few choices at your disposal.
First, you can place your heart on a shelf and wait for him to grow up. Then reattempt post HIS adulthood. Men need that time to get over themselves, and this portion of their lives decide the kind of men they become. Caveat: most men never do. That's why they remain a horde of jerks.
Second, you can wake up and see that forgiveness delayed is not any prettier than a means of emotional ransom to control the person who has erred. This arm-twisting is the premise of those who are most likely to err themselves without personal moral strength, and therefore they only understand coercion as a means of staying on the straight and narrow. Confront him with this and pray that he has the maturity to turn the lights on and deal with himself.
Third, recognise that your tears and insomnia have a price. It is paid to ease the heartache when you may have to save a committment that is standing on spindly legs, to see a loved one through a terminal illness, bereavement. Maybe over your kids for whom you have not endured labour pains yet. And most times, weeping and staying up nights belong to the nurturing of infants. Not MEN.
Fourth, assess what it is that you deserve. Go get it.
